GRIT Resilience Training Application
By completing this training, you will be trained to be a GRIT "coach." As a GRIT coach, you can help spread support and education to your community members. A coach’s role is to support and motivate. In the sports world, an athlete struggling to improve a skill or hone his/her overall performance, would turn to a coach. When that athlete needs assistance for an injury, he/she would turn to a doctor. In this similar mindset, the GRIT coaches provide education and support at an individual, group, and community level and are not medical or mental health professionals.
This free 5-hour training provides information and skills on general and COVID-19 stress, resilience, disaster recovery, skills, support and small interventions to enable a GRIT Coach to educate, support and motivate individuals and communities to be as resilient as they can be in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak and subsequent challenges.
GRIT Coaches provide short-term resilience support and referrals and never replace professional help. To sign up for being a coach please complete the following form and we will reach out to schedule you for a virtual training program.
GRIT has recently developed 4 other trainings that are now available, including GRIT-4ED, GRIT-LEAD, GRIT-4HEALTH, and GRIT-SERVE
GRIT-4ED is designed specifically for educators and those working the school and education environment. The purpose of the training is to teach supportive, coping skills for colleagues, families, and students in our school communities. This training is available in five self-paced videos. Participants will also receive a workbook and a variety of resources for self and others.
GRIT-LEAD is a free five-hour training designed specifically for leaders and small business owners, giving strategies around supporting employees, managing in a new environment, and how to assist employees in the back-to-work transition. This training is available in five self-paced videos. Participants will also receive a workbook and a variety of resources for self and others.
GRIT-4Health is a free five-hour training designed specifically to support and build resilience in the healthcare community, an industry that has been disproportionately impacted by the stress and impact of COVID-19. Participants will learn vital information and skills about how to build resilience: a person’s ability to cope with traumatic events. This training is available in five self-paced videos. Participants will also receive a workbook and a variety of resources for self and others.
GRIT-SERVE is a free five-hour training designed specifically to support emergency and first responders and military personnel in the specific stress and challenges they may face on the job. This training is available in five self-paced videos. Participants will also receive a workbook and a variety of resources for self and others.
