GRIT 4HEALTH Training Info
GRIT has been established to train volunteers in the community to promote wellness and resilience among fellow community members – friends, family, and acquaintances – in the mist of the stress caused by COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and other disasters. Due to the impact of the stresses of COVID-19 on individuals, families, and communities, the current pandemic can be viewed as a disaster for the community, the country, and the world. In times of disaster, strengthening coping, spreading support, and providing resources can lead too positive impacts on healing and resilience for everyone.
The healthcare industry has been disproportionately impacted by the stress and impact of COVID-19. Additionally, many healthcare workers started dealing with preparation and consequences of the pandemic months before the general community, meaning many workers may feel fatigued or even burned out. Burn out is often described as emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by prolonged stress. Social support and coping skills are important in combatting burn out. The purpose of GRIT-4Health is to provide mutual support to the healthcare community, whether that be your peers, family, or friends. This workbook and course will show you how!
